Hypersexualization: "The excessive use of body-centered strategies to seduce and drive consumption."
– Sylvie Richard-Bessette (Canadian psychologist)
Children today can access violent pornography with disturbing ease. It contrasts with the difficulty teenagers once faced in entering a peepshow, merely to see a naked woman.
It is not a shocking image to picture a child in their clean, safe, and comfortable bedroom, staring at a screen. But how would we react if we saw the same child inside a peepshow, in a dirty, decaying room where adults have been masturbating?
Would that lead us to reflect differently on how easily children access pornography today, whether through explicit material or hypersexualized content?
